Daughter of Zion

Daughter of Zion

Daughter of Sarah
Stranger in a strange land
Not grasping at the rights you held
Now servant of the Servant-King
You stoop to wash these brown and dusty feet
With Water and with tears.

Daughter of Eve
In a fallen Adam-world...
Who would choose to enter there?
Who would think to even dare?
Your sisters faint beneath the curse
And so you come to sing them Hope.

Daughter of Gethsemane
The Cup is there, the Silent Call
You drink and humbly go to die
With curtains torn and stormy skies
Descending to the depths to save
Sister-souls to rob the grave.

Daughter of Zion
Glorious, shining one
Your name is written on His Heart
Your heart is cherished in His strong and tender hands
He knows your song and loves to sing,
To Sing with Joy in knowing you.

Princess of Heaven
As you stoop to wash His dusty feet
With tears and sweet perfume
And dry them with Your glory
He reaches down and touches you with Love,
Calls your name and comforts you.

Daughter of the Second Eve
Rejoice, for He rejoices over you
Lift up your hands and heart in self-abandoned praise
The Lover of Your Soul is here
He Weeps more deeply than you know
And gently covers you with Purest, Softest Snow.

Daughter of Zion
Weep with Joy and in the Sorrow sing
You are exalted by the Glorious Servant-King.
